Alan Richardson Hohn

Alan Richardson Hohn joined the Macalester-Plymouth United Church Community in 2021 as the Building and Grounds Manager. He is excited to add his love of maintaining and renewing purpose for established structures to the robust parish mission of caring for creation. He brings 20 years of experience caring for St. Paul buildings, with a focus on those built prior to the 1950s.

A St. Paul native, Alan has spent time in every neighborhood of the city as a coach, educator, community advocate, avid biker, and building maintenance specialist. A product of St. Paul Public Schools, Alan graduated from Central High School, subsequently earning certification from St. Paul College and a Bachelor of Arts from St. Olaf College.

Alan resides in an oversized 1909 North End home with his partner of 12 years, three cats, and a rotating cast of housemates. When not working on buildings, Alan bikes, plays various musical instruments, gardens, spends time with family and friends, and serves on the boards of multiple St. Paul foundations and community organizations.
