Dear Beloved Church Community,

Because of YOU…lives are changed for the good! Do you know this church? Do you know the positive, life-giving, transformational impact you are having on each other and our world? Well, it’s true!

Because of YOU, our church changes lives is our Stewardship Theme, which we launch this Sunday in worship. I imagine it will come as no surprise to you that I so appreciate the Stewardship season. It is an invitation to reflect and be intentional about living out the spiritual practice of being a person of generosity. It’s also an invitation to align our values with where we invest our financial resources, including here at church. 

Our Stewardship and Finance Committee, in a letter you’ll soon receive, names the power for good we have in our collective community, “Like the fallen leaves, YOUR pledge encourages new growth in our ability to change lives. It does this by creating a community at MPUC that organizes to make a difference in our community and the world. We do this through serving meals, donating food, working for social justice, seeking ways to right historical and current wrongs in our society, and working with and housing immigrants. Because of YOUR pledge, we have this place to change lives.” Thanks be to God!

I’m eager to pay attention with you to what emerges in our midst as we together continue cultivating a culture of generosity. Because of YOU, our church changes lives.
