Creation Justice Committee
The Creation Justice Committee believes that caring for God’s earth is crucial to our spiritual life and social justice work. The Creation Justice Committee works for sustainability in our communal life and in our individual lives.
Our denominations offer certifications based on a commitment to sustainability. In October 2015, heeding the call of the General Synod (UCC) for responsible stewardship of God’s creation, we passed a congregational resolution to become an Earthwise Congregation. The UCC now recognizes Macalester Plymouth United Church as a Creation Justice Church.
In February 2024, we received our tenth annual certification as an Earth Care Congregation by the PC(USA)’s Environmental Ministries.

Organizing forums and events for the congregation and providing articles that promote and educate about sustainability.
Joining with and supporting other organizations such as MN Interfaith Power and Light and Isaiah in their environmental justice work.
Continuing to support the change from carbon based fuels to electricity through lobbying efforts at the state Capitol.
