Joseph "Waziya" Bester is a respected elder with the Gichitwaa Kateri Catholic Church and a spiritual guide with the Mendota Mdewankanton Dakota Tribal Community. Joseph walks in both the Dakota spiritual path and the Christian Way of Jesus. He will share stories and Dakota teachings about our relationship to the land and all of life.

Every month Joseph leads Incipi Ceremony (sweat lodge rituals) that are open to all at the DuPuis House in Mendota. Joseph is a drummer and has also been a Sun Dancer for over 30 years.
