The View From Here

I hunger for this moment all year long. Christmas Eve worship, the lights dimmed, sweet anticipatory energy floating through the gathered community, each person waiting to light their candle from the flame of their neighbor's candle. Sometimes in silence, this past year with glorious grounding extended introduction to Silent Night (thank you, Cathleen!) as the light softly spreads and grows. The beauty of our God-created diversity aglow in each face as we sing together Silent Night, claiming and calling forth God’s peace for you and me, for all creation. And then the tender lingering in the silence, candles lit and raised, washing us in Christ’s light, helping us remember our absolute need for one another. For a life-giving connection that leads to flourishing. Thank you, church, for co-creating this experience with me on Christmas Eve. I carry it with me into this New Year, in this season of Epiphany, yearning for more such connections. How about you?

Prioritize Connection is one of the recommendations from our Convergence consultants in our ongoing discernment process of Creating Our Future. The Adult Faith Formation and Children, Youth, and Families Faith Formation Ministry Teams are offering Four different small group opportunities for us to connect and have fun with one another.
